“One of the favourite things I found was a 1970’s answer machine with all the messages on it!”
Scott Wishart
Mabledon Boot Fair - 1994
The summer of 1994 will be remembered for many reasons. Four Weddings and a Funeral was filling cinemas, Whigfield was briefly at the top of the charts and a little band from Manchester had recently played the Forum, before releasing their debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’. Sunday trading had only been introduced earlier that year, making this a golden age for Mabledon Boot Fair too. Listen to Scott Wishart as he talks to James Pavlou of Walk Tonbridge about his unusual bargains, followed by Anne Clement and her memories of the dealers.
