Tonbridge used to abruptly end at Cage Green but with a growing population and housing in demand after the war years, a surge of building took place all over what is now North Tonbridge, with several estates being built, along with York Parade shopping area. Anne Clement recounts memories of the new estates being built and one of her first homes which was at Norton Crescent.
