‘‘It was hugely popular pub - at the weekends it was absolutely rammed’’
Scott Wishart
1994 - The Hogshead
Sat on the bank of the River Medway this old warehouse enjoyed a ten year spell as a Beefeater restaurant before turning into the Hogshead - a lively pub that was popular with a young crowd and ale enthusiasts alike. It closed in 2014 joining the ranks of the towns lost pubs. Listen to Margaret Maddison, Derek Still, Anne Clement and Scott Wishart share some of their memories of Tonbridge pubs from the past and present.
